Introducing our new Race Edition inserts, optimised for racing and tested by the World’s fastest.
Taking our test winning PRO V2 insert, we have made the following alterations based on feedback from top level Downhill and Enduro racers. Optimising it for the specific requirements of racers.
Less rotational weight- our inserts already offer some of the best weight to protection ratios available, but we know that when racing at the highest level, every gram counts. Race Edition weighs 20% less than our standard PRO V2 insert to minimise any added inertia from the insert.
Lower profile - Race Edition inserts take up 24% less room in your tyre compared to our standard inserts. Still big enough to provide a level of damping and support to the tyre, but offering a less transformative ride feel.
Easier to install - When access to spare or replacement components between races, outright rim protection is not as high a priority for race teams. Despite this, the inserts still play an important part in keeping air in the tyre. The lower profile also makes last minute fitting in between race runs easier. The Insert still provides a huge uplift in protection, very close to that of a full Pro V2 insert.
Rimpact inserts must be used in conjunction with an insert compatible valve design.
Use about 25% more sealant than recommended on the bottle to ensure the extra surface area of the insert is coated with plenty of fluid to spare. Our inserts are closed cell and cannot absorb liquid however some sealant will cling to the outside of the insert requiring a slightly higher dosage. It can be injected through Rimpact Valves but is best poured directly into the tyre.

Rimpact is a Bristol-based company founded in 2018 by Matt Shearn—it was born out of a simple need for better bike components. Frustrated by the available options, Matt designed his own insoles for his bike and soon after sparked interest among friends and other riders, which led to the founding of Rimpact.
Since then, we have expanded our product line to include chain guides for all types of mountain bikes. Building on this success, we have also developed the Chain Damper and TMD—projects we have been quietly working on in our workshop for several years.
We’re still a small team of two, and every product we sell is either manufactured or assembled by us right here at our Bristol facility, where it’s put together with the same care and precision we demand for our own rides.
