The first gen of Die Bremse came in 2020. With a mind like Felix’s, it’s not like you have a product in the market and then go to bed every night, not thinking about what you could improve. At the same time rider demands change, new products pop up and so on. In short: It was time for 612 to put all the ideas for a second generation of brakes into reality.
The result is the brand new DIE BREMSE RS. “RS” standing for Radial Style, as the lever features a radial piston layout. The rider centric design approach has both been pushed further and refined:
- The bar clamp is fixed to the bars, the actual lever assembly can be removed for safe transport or for servicing. When it is bolted back to the bars, it sits at the exact same position as before. No need to dial the position back in.
- The lever body has shrunk considerably: It is so small that it now fits through an IS 52 headset bearing. Meaning no need to rebleed the brakes, for those that run a cable tourism headset arrangement.
- The lower volume also means lower weight: A complete DIE BREMSE RS unit (front, radial lever, two piston caliper, no disc) now weighs in at a scant 393g.
- Rotatable banjo connection now also at the lever (radial version) and caliper (4 piston version).
- Allows for perfect routing of the brake hose.
- Same threaded and reusable connectors, no one-way olives and pressure inserts needed.
- All parts in the family are intercompatible: RS lever with any caliper option, axial lever with any caliper option. Calipers can be combined with drop bar levers.
- Fluids: Standard is mineral oil for all combos. DOT versions of the two piston calipers are available for drop bar setups.
- Featuring Bleeding Edge™ bleed ports.
- High end CNC finish, including a carbon lid on the lever, for extra racing points.
- Adjustable reach over a wide, 40mm spectrum.
Now a family of brake components, DIE BREMSE RS allows the rider to configure the brake to the specific needs: From a gravity catering layout to a super sleek road bike flatmount configuration, everything is possible.

- Levers: adjustable CNC’d from 7075 aluminum, hard anodized, ball bearings throughout (4pcs. per lever), MatchMaker, compatible, banjo hose fitting.
- Bite point: Not adjustable, as there is rarely an actual need for it.
- Hose: Ø 5mm, Kevlar reinforced. Standard length 900mm (front), 1800mm (rear), other lengths upon request.

Some brands start with a business plan. 612-Parts began with one rider’s frustration.
Felix, the founder of 612-Parts (legally Eisz GmbH, headquartered in Kriens, Switzerland), describes himself as an average mountain biker—but with an engineering background and zero patience for compromise. Instead of settling for what the major brake manufacturers had to offer, he began machining them himself. What started as a personal project became Die Bremse (“The Brake”)—and eventually a small, uncompromisingly independent component brand that has gained a following of loyal riders who care just as much about how the parts are made as they do about how they perform.
A one-man workshop, not a factory.
612-Parts isn’t trying to be the next SRAM or Shimano. It’s a boutique operation, hand-assembled in Switzerland, with CNC-machined parts manufactured in Switzerland and Germany. Every set of brakes that leaves the workshop has passed through Felix’s own hands—not a production line. This is a fundamentally different promise than that of mass-produced brakes, and you can see it in the details.
